Pre-School Programs

Stimulating young minds from the very beginning!

Science Central’s pre-school programming is designed to jumpstart your child’s mind and catapult their fascination to new heights before they enter the kindergarten classroom.  Through playful exploration, children learn that science is more than a school subject--it’s FUN!

Two great programs to choose from:

Small Fry Camps

Small Fry Camps are a series of three-hour morning camps that children age 3-5 are invited to attend by themselves. The camps take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and are designed to give preschoolers an independent experience.  Preschoolers will participate in age-appropriate, hands-on science experiments and crafts, visit the Kids Central Gallery and have a healthy snack.  An experienced teacher will lead the camps with qualified teaching assistants.

Non-members: $19; Members: $17.

Half Pint Science

Join us for a special time dedicated to children ages 2-5 and their designated adult.  Come and explore the world of hands-on science, from a kids-eye view.  Half Pint Science takes place on select Mondays during the school year when Science Central is closed to the public.  You will have time to explore Kids’ Central, have a snack and learn all about the science topic of the day.  Programs are from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Non-members: $12 for first child and $6 for each additional child.  Members: $10 for first child and $5 for each additional child.
