Cat-a-pulting into Measurement

Explanation:  Have you been looking for a way to make measurement and metric fun and  memorable?  Well, we’ve got it!  This program introduces measurement madness in motion using the Cat-a-pultä by HandsOnToys.  Younger students will explore measurement through standard and nonstandard means culminating in a “spring loaded” experience.  Older students will explore metrics by launching “cats” through the air ending with a Rube-Goldberg type setup.

Grade Level:    K-8

Length:             45-60 minute lab

Number:           32 students maximum (K only, 24)

Location:         Science Central or your location

Cost:                 At Science Central $1.50 per student; at your location $100,

                            $50 for each additional consecutive lab

Requirements: large floor space.
