Extreme Physics

Explanation:  It's time to "start your engines, please” as your class is divided up into pit crews and given a mini-4WD car. Using these models, students will learn the variables that affect the movement of the car and discuss physics concepts, such as force, energy and speed.  The cars are tested for average speed and time.  Then the students make a change to the gear ratio or tire size to try and make their car faster. How force, energy, and speed affect the car are reinforced in this popular lab.
