Middle School Bridge Building Contest

Held Saturday, February 16, 2008 

at Science Central!

How sturdy is your bridge?

Have you ever thought about building a structure: building, bridge, home, porch, etc? Come test your skills at either the high school or middle school bridge building contest!

Each bridge is weighed and tested. Testing does involve partially or completely destroying your creation, which is not recommended for testing finished bridges in the real world, but it's great when working on models! 

The objective is to design and build the strongest, lightest, and firmest (low deflection of load bearing surface) bridge using craft sticks and adhesive.

17 years - 1300 bridges - 2000 Students
