Educators' Resource Center The Educators’ Resource Center (ERC) at Science Central is a special research facility designed to provide educators with hands-on science materials to use in the classroom. It is also a repository for NASA information and curriculum for preschool through high school classes and it contains valuable background materials for the adult learner. The center is available to serve educators from northwestern Ohio, southern Michigan and northern Indiana. The NASA collection includes videotapes, color slides, fact sheets, teachers guides, CD’s, laser disks and filmstrips that are both educational and entertaining.
Our NASA collection
includes videotapes, posters, slides, fact sheets, curriculum, CD’s,
laser disks, DVD’s and filmstrips that are both educational and
entertaining. Many of these materials may be duplicated on site.
Paper copies may be made at a dime per sheet; videotape programs may be
copied at no cost, although you must provide your own high quality, new
VCR tape. A computer workstation with access to NASA’s Spacelink website and the Internet, is also available in the ERC. NASA furnishes the Educators’ Resource Center with a variety of exciting public-domain software to enhance the classroom experience.
Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS) is a growing national resource for the advancement of activity based science and mathematics. It was developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science at University of California, Berkeley and then extensively tested nationwide and modified for classroom use. GEMS includes more than 70 teacher’s guides and handbooks for preschool through tenth grade, which can be used to supplement curricula. Click here for information on this year's GEMS workshop.
