Trip Resources
The information sheets describe a cluster of exhibits pertaining to curriculum topics. Each sheet describes where the exhibits are located, the science concept demonstrated, activities and questions teachers can use to create assignment sheets. Information sheets are available for the following topics:
Guides provide teachers with self-directed activities that students can use on the exhibit floor. The guide activities work best after your unit on the particular topic and can be used for application and assessment purposes. All guides contain objects, State Standards, topic information for the teacher, pre and post field trip activities, worksheets and a resource list. Available topic guides are: Weather Alert, Rock Detective, High Voltage, Tidal Pool Cool and Physics Phun. These guides can be used alone or as part of our topical programs.
Our newest field trip resource is now available. These decks are laminated, connected cards that can be checked out at the admission desk for a group of students by their teacher. The decks will guide the students around the exhibit floor in a fun, yet educational, exploration. Some decks will follow a topic, while others will guide students to exhibits that coordinate with the State Standards for their grade level. Teachers can require students to answer the questions or make the observations indicated in the decks on paper. Teachers will need to supply answer sheet paper and pencils. Students can also do the decks just for fun! Decks available include:
