Kids Central
This is a special area just for kids age 2 through 7 and their grown-ups. Young scientists enter Kids Central through a specially-sized doorway and quickly discover more than 20 hands-on exhibits including a puppet theater, a captured shadow room that lets you play with your shadow like Peter Pan, a giant bubble window that allows you to create a bubble as big as you, a water table, a life-size piano that you can play by walking, jumping or dancing on and Fort Discovery - a multi-level play structure.

Swap Shop
Find something interesting in your backyard? How about during that trip to New Mexico? Well bring it on down to the swap shop where kids are encouraged to bring in their treasures from nature and trade them in for other objects in the Swap Shop collection. Trading is based on a point system and points can be spent or banked for future use.

Measurement Gallery
Are you a square? Are you all wet? The Measurement Gallery at Science Central can tell you. Step into a device that checks your horizontal and vertical body measurements. Or step onto a platform that tells you how many gallons of water are in your body. You can even step under a wave field that will give you your exact height. For the athletically inclined, there's a treadmill that will tell you how many calories and BTUs you're expending. Find out how you stack up. Or out.

Observation Gallery
Observation has long been the backbone of scientific discovery. But rarely has it been this much fun. In Science Central's Observation Gallery you'll have the chance to examine starfish, hermit crabs and other Atlantic Ocean creatures in our Ocean Tidal Pool. Our Whisper Dishes let you speak into a big parabolic dish to see if your partner can hear you several feet away. Clap into the Echo Tube, launch a wind missile with the Air Cannon, play the piano with your feet or a harp without touching any strings, build a self-supporting arch and explore the electrical properties of the human heart. It's all yours to do and observe.

Investigation Gallery
Can you lift yourself into the air using ropes and pulleys? What does it take for a building to withstand an earthquake? Inquiring minds want to know! And they'll find out in our Investigation Gallery. Lift yourself with various block and tackle combinations. Build a model structure and see what it takes to destroy it. Drop payloads via parachute. Go cycling with a skeleton. Get dizzy on the Spin Table. Investigation can be a blast!

Prediction Gallery
In our Prediction Gallery you can pretend you are a real meteorologist!  Sit at our weather desk, talk into the microphone and make a prediction about the weather while on camera!  Make up your own pretend predictions or use our many weather instruments and tools to make a real educated guess about the weather.  Learn how a tornado is created, put your hands in the clouds, design a paper airplane and test it out, and test your center of gravity all in our Prediction Gallery.

Mind's Eye Gallery
Does your mind play tricks on you? Do you know if you are colorblind? Can you master our mind-bending puzzles? How lazy is your brain?  In the Mind's Eye Gallery, you can test your problem-solving skills by working on one of our many interactive puzzles.  Trick your brain by investigating our many optical illusions.  Make sure you check out the Confusion-Illusion Room, where you can watch a cylinder roll uphill!  And don't forget to crawl through our dark tunnel: The Sewer!  Use your sense of touch to feel your way through.
