Your Visit:

For a family’s first visit, plan on spending two to three hours.  We have over 120 exhibits to experience; you can visit the Swap Shop and catch a demonstration. Make sure you ask about the Backpack program, which encourages a more focused exploration of the exhibits and is free with admissions. Families with children 7 and under, check out Kids Central - a gallery especially for our young visitors.

Exhibit Rotations: Science Central has adopted a rotation schedule for exhibits and activities, to better insure that you will have the widest range of activities available during your visit. The following schedule is used for  Spring Break, Summer, and Weekends (Sunday has the same schedule, but starts at Noon)

Additional Info: Kids Central is an area for kids 7 and under, designed as an area where little scientists can explore to their hearts content, without big kids running around. The High Rail Bike and the Giant Slide exhibits, on the other hand, require visitors to be at least 50" tall, for safety reasons.

Visitor Amenities:

Rocks & Rolls Food Court: There is an eating area on the Lower Level with drink and snack vending machines. Feel free to bring in your own food, or even order pizza. We’re happy to oblige. Or, you may have your hand stamped at admissions, and leave for lunch.  We do ask, though, that all food and drinks stay in the Food Court area.

Handicap Accessibility: Science Central is a wheelchair-friendly facility.

Strollers and Storage Lockers are available.
