30th Anniversary

Science Central turns 30 in 2025!

Our museum has a rich history and unique beginnings. In 2025 we will be celebrating 30 years of delivering hands-on STEM education to ALL!

In 2025 you can expect a planetarium, new exhibits in the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery, nostalgic throwbacks, and tributes worth fanning over.

At Countdown To Noon, Science Central revealed a new commemorative building portrait by Phan Gear Prints. Posters, stickers, and other merchandise featuring this 30th-anniversary print can be purchased in our gift shop.

Our Logo

Science Central’s branding has evolved over the course of 30 years.
Here are insights about each of our logos.

Our original logo featured a lightning bolt, stylized in three segments. The decision to highlight electricity was an acknowledgment of Science Central’s building and its history as a power plant.

Our second logo emphasized Science Central’s dedication to tactile learning – to providing visitors with a “hands-on fun” experience. This methodology is what differentiates us from a museum, where exhibits are traditionally out of reach, behind ropes or glass.

Our current logo, designed in 2013, can be perceived as bubbling test tubes, as well as active smokestacks. It establishes Science Central’s identity as a science center while referencing our building’s unique architecture.

Cheers to
30 years!

Celebrate with us in 2025.
