Celebrate the new year with Science Central’s Countdown to Noon on December 31st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Science Central’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration takes the excitement of the holiday’s countdown to midnight and recreates it at noon and 2 PM for partygoers of all ages with early bedtimes. This event will also feature a sensory-friendly version of the big drop.
Countdown To Noon features epic balloon drops from the top level through the center of our museum. This event is included with admission and doesn’t require special reservations. Participants are invited to make a wish and write it on a balloon to be included in one of the big drops.
During December, Science Central staff and volunteers will be inflating balloons in the temporary exhibitions gallery. While staff are present, visitors can find those preparing balloons and sign their names on a balloon to make a wish for 2026. This is a way you can participate even if you can’t join us for the official event!
*Please note: After the drop, visitors should anticipate hearing the sound of popping balloons and bring ear protection, if desired.
