Guest speakers and demonstrations will be a part of Science Central’s Earth Day celebration, set for Saturday, April 23.
Speakers include Jacquelyn Buck, with Allen County Partnership for Water Quality, and Frederick Davis, with Purdue University Fort Wayne. Buck will speak at noon, providing insight into her organization’s mission to promote the improvement of local water quality. Davis, a professor whose areas of expertise include environmental history, will talk at 1:30 p.m. Both presentations will occur in Science Central’s Demonstration Space, located in the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery.
Fort Wayne Community Schools will be in attendance as well, sharing information about how the district encourages reducing, reusing, and recycling.
The event's demonstrations will feature Science on a Sphere in the AEP Foundation Theater. These demonstrations, set for 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., will explore the difference between weather and climate and how the latter is changing on Earth.
