Frequently Asked Questions

The deadline to register is one week prior to the first Coding Club session.

Science Central cannot accommodate walk-ins at Coding Club. All participants must be registered in advance.

An EMA form must be on file for each Coding Club participant. This form is where you will provide emergency contact information as well as list any medical issues and/or allergies that we should be aware of to provide the best experience for your child. The form must be filled out, even if Science Central has a previous form on file for your child.

This form is only completed online and submitted electronically, at least 7 days prior to the start of Coding Club. You will receive information on how to access the form in your confirmation email.

In the interests of safety, children will not be allowed to participate in Coding Club if they do not have a completed EMA form.

Drop-off begins 15 minutes prior to Coding Club’s start time. Sign-in is inside Science Central, so individuals dropping off participants must come in with them. Each time at sign-in, you will sign in your child, then provide us with the name of the person expected to pick them up when the club dismisses. You may designate authorized people to pick up your child on their EMA form.

After your child is signed in, they will proceed to the Coding Club classroom.

Sign-out begins at Coding Club’s end time and runs for 30 minutes. The sign-out station is inside Science Central, so individuals picking up participants must come in to retrieve them. Only approved individuals (those listed on the EMA) may pick up participants. All individuals picking up participants are required to sign a sign-out sheet with Coding Club staff before their children will be released.

If you are more than 15 minutes late to pick up your child, you will be charged $15 for every 5 minutes past pick-up time, based on our clock. If you are more than one hour late to pick up your child, and we are unable to reach you, or other individuals listed on the EMA, the Fort Wayne Police Department will be notified.

Science Central and the media frequently take photos/videos of visitors which may be used for future Science Central promotions or publicity. These photos may be used without your consent and without compensation. If you do not want your image used, please avoid photographers and inform them of your desire. As a visitor, you are welcome to take photos for non-commercial use at Science Central.
