Located in a former powerplant called City Light & Power, hence the colored smokestacks, Science Central is an exciting mix of hands-on learning and engaging fun! We bring the excitement of science and technology to nearly 140,000 children and adults annually. We have served over 1.5 million people since opening!
Our logo is integral to our brand so please use it respectfully without altering or changing it. Understand that if you add Science Central’s logo to your piece, it will either positively or negatively affect Science Central ; even if you don’t work for or represent Science Central.
The public recognizes our logo and trusts it. We want to maintain that trust.
- Use the black shield version for formal uses (news reports, print pieces, etc.).
- Use the “Glow” version of the black shield when our logo will be placed over the top of dark colors. This helps it to stand out from the background.
- Use the no shield version for informal uses (handouts, shirts, etc.).
- Use color logos whenever the final piece will be viewed in color (TV, web, color print, etc.).
- Use B&W logos if piece will be printed in B&W (newspaper, B&W print, etc.).
Science Central uses a “Blue Fade” as a background for many things internally. The fade often goes from bottom left to upper right with dark blue to light blue and back to dark blue. However, for some uses, it may go in other directions or just from dark to light. The field is always oriented at a 60-degree angle.

Science Central’s smokestacks are an immediately recognizable aspect of our brand. Sometimes, these colors can be used to improve or add to the overall look of your piece.
Computer screens do not always represent true colors and can vary widely from screen to screen. Don’t trust that what you see on your screen is what you’ll eventually get on the final printed piece. To insure consistency, use these color codes.
